SUSTAINABILITY INITIATIVES.

To align with the Energy & Sustainability Framework and contribute to a renewable, net-zero community by 2050, members of the Regina Hotel Association have stepped up their sustainable practices for eco-friendly stays.

ENERGY CONSERVATION

– Use of LED and low-watt lighting.

– Ensuring thermostats are set at a standard temperature.

– Reducing water usage by providing laundering upon request.

LANDFILL DIVERSION.

– Reducing single-use plastics by transitioning to residential-sized refillable amenities (i.e. shampoo, conditioner, shower gel) and offering staff meals to eliminate food waste.

– Repurposing old linens into cleaning rags.

– Recycling lightbulbs, providing separate waste and recycling bins in guestrooms, and donating furniture, mattresses, electronics, linens, towels, and bedding to local organizations including the Salvation Army, Sophia House, First Nations reserves, community schools, and various shelters
