Last year’s winner, Kathleen Crowther of Saskatoon, had one of her dreams come true
at the festival: “A few highlights for me were seeing both Charles Bradley and Bahamas. I
was one of the lucky few who got a hug from Charles after his show when he came down in
front of the stage. That was a sweaty, but memorable hug. Bahamas’ Barchords is one of
my all time favourite albums ever; to see him play nearly all of the songs from it live was a
dream come true.”
ABOUT THE REGINA FOLK FESTIVAL:

with the sounds of Saskatchewan’s best alternative to mainstream music: The Regina
Folk Festival. Since opening in1969 it has grown to an annual family-friendly music
and creative festival with a community of up to 25,000 attendees of all ages and 600+

garden and to enjoy soulful eats in the food court. The children’s area includes
entertainers, workshops, crafts, face painting and more. Admission is always free for
children 12 & under. The only area that requires a ticket to enter is the Mainstage.
The Regina Folk Festival is well-known for its easy-to-get-to location, small-city vibe,
free daytime programming and family-friendly atmosphere. The evening mainstage
area holds a capacity of 4000 people in a wide park so every seat is good. Artistic
Director Sandra Butel believes it’s very important to create an amazing audience
experience. In addition to building a music-lover’s program of artists, she has
prioritized setting up a smooth traffic flow so people are able to pick up a refreshment,
grab a hot dog or go to the bathroom and get back to their seat within one song.
Weekend pass: $113, Single-Day pass $56.
